 I'm Still Here
I stood by you, by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well. I'm fine. I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast.
I watched you pour the tea.
You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today.
Your arms were getting sore. I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today. You tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you, that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said, "It's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you everyday -
to say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew.
In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over ...... I smile and watch you yawning
and say, "Good night, God bless - I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out . . . then come home to be with me.

In memory of past friends

Gone but not forgotten

 

 

	Sebastian - Lanleadane Kaisa's Legacy 22.04.06 - 09.02.07 Sadly taken from us at just 10 months of age.  So much promise, that was not fulfilled.
	Daffy - Bernegarden's Daffodil at Lanleadane (imp Nor) 1RCC, 1CACIB, 1 Green star  09/04/03 - 17/02/07   Tragically died when her puppies were just 2 weeks old due to gastric torsion.  Daffy is missed greatly.  Her legacy lives on in her puppies and she did us proud.

 

Flo - Lanleadane Bowl Em Over 26/02/00 - 26/05/07   Sadly put to sleep to prevent further suffering due to a large abdominal tumour. Flo was a delight to live with and was a very sweet girl, who loved everyone.  She will be sadly missed.

	Sally Aged 12 1995 - 18/07/07   Our loved rescue, who was put to sleep in order to maintain her dignity following losing the use of her hind legs. A real character, who will be sadly missed.

 

	Tompion Ch. Lanleadane Lord Faringdon at Fileybear 06.11.1998 - 25.12.2007   Tompion died peacefully at home with Bob Filewood on Christmas Day. He was a true "English Gentleman" who will be sadly missed by Bob and all of us.   3CCs 2 with BOB  4RCCs  Best in Show South of England St. Bernard Club 2002  Reserve Best in Show, Best Veteran in Show South of England St. Bernard Club 2006
	22.04.06 - 17.02.08 Timothy Lanleadane New Sensation   Sadly has joined his brother and mother. Taken overnight by the dreaded bloat.   Run free little man

 

	Lizzie 26/2/2000 - 14/08/08   Lizzie was returned to us earlier this year due to a change in her owners circumstances. Sadly put to sleep to prevent further suffering due to an auto-immune skin disorder - pemphigus Run free Liz at The Rainbow Bridge

	HETTY Burnswark Daniella of Lanleadane 07.12.1996 - 11.04.2009 Sire: Ch. Whaplode Aristocrat Dam: Burnswark Julietta
	Pickle Melloways Stop n' Stare at Lanleadane 17.07.2000 - 27.04.09 After only 2 days of being unwell, we had to make the decision to prevent her suffering anymore, as she was full of cancer. Pickle was dearly loved by us all and a real character.  Her Mum, Molly, Auntie Hatty and brother Victor are still with us at Lanleadane. Run Free at The Rainbow Bridge dear Pickle

	Sadly we had to say goodbye to Angus - Lanleadane Here We Go Again on 15/05/09 at the age of just 5 years old   Angus did us proud in  the showring as a puppy, being unbeaten, but he did not enjoy showing, so was retired very early from the show ring. He was a lovely boy to live with and he will be sadly missed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Don't grieve too long for now I'm free,

I'm following the path God set for me,

I ran to him when I heard his call,

I wagged my tail and left it all.

 

I could not stay another day,

to bark, to love, to romp or play.

Games left unplayed must stay that way.

I found such peace it made my day.

 

My parting has left you with a void,

A friendship shared, your laugh, a kiss,

oh yes these things I too shall miss.

 

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life's been full, you've given so much,

your time, your love, your gentle touch.

 

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,

don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
